Altair G1

Auralic

Altair G1

Assembling all the components for a feature-rich, wireless digital streaming Hi-Fi audio system that sounds great can be a formidable and expensive undertaking. That’s why we built an outstanding DAC and gave it the ability to stream ultra-high-resolution digital music. The ALTAIR Wireless Streaming DAC connects to just about everything, all on its own. It’s a lot of technology in a single box that opens your system to the world.

The Altair G1 all-in-one streaming DAC & pre-amp is the gateway into the Auralic streaming world, encompassing Lightning Server, digital to analogue conversion, and pre-amp functionality. The analogue output can be fixed to line-level if the pre-amp functionality isn’t required.

You can connect up an external HDD or an SSD, point it at a network share or it can be fitted with an internal drive to store music. Lighting Server will manage this music & function as a UPnP server

"The flow of music is effortless and tonality feels gracefully right."

“If you’re not streaming yet, shame on you. This is where you would start, and could end, in my view.”

“The Auralic Altair G1 was clearly design by an engineering team that understood audiophiles and consumers. The reason I say this is because audiophiles want the best sound quality and consumer in general want everything.”

- Read the full review from Audiophile Style here.

“There isn’t a ‘game changer’ at the moment because so many aspects of the game of hi-fi are taking a bit of a rest right now. But I feel strongly that the nearest we get to a game changer is the AURALiC ALTAIR G1. Sure, it’s a more modest proposal next to the digital big guns (including the big guns from AURALiC itself), but I can’t help but feel it’s the right proposal for the job right now. Best of all, that ‘more modest proposal’ makes few concessions to performance in absolute terms. It’s easy to set-up, easy to use, fun to listen to, and is priced to appeal to a wider audio enthusiast base than many of its contemporaries. In the audio world of 2020 and beyond, it makes all the right noises and ticks all the right boxes.”

“The Altair G1 is a real treasure trove. As long as it’s within your budget, look no further.” And “This may well be the last digital device that you’ll want or need ever again.”
