The Reference Isolation Foundation for Naim Audio Electronics
Engineered using the full design resources of Naim Audio, the Naim Fraim Base serves as the critical starting level for the modular Fraim equipment support system. Unlike standard furniture or traditional hi-fi racks, the Fraim system is designed as an active acoustic component—progressively decoupling micro-vibrations and airborne interference so high-performance electronics can operate at their peak.
Housed on adjustable stainless steel floor spikes, the Fraim Base features a dual-tier wooden platform architecture designed specifically to sink and dissipate mechanical energy before it reaches your source or amplification components.
Engineering & Decoupling Architecture
The Fraim Base employs a multi-stage isolation hierarchy based on minimal-contact interfaces:
Dual-Layer Wooden Base Platform: Unlike the single-tier standard extension levels, the Base incorporates a double-layer composite wood platform with tuned air gaps to maximize structural isolation from floor vibrations.
Toughened Glass Sub-Shelf: A specially selected, acoustically deadened toughened glass shelf sits atop three stainless steel ball bearings resting in cup-and-cone mounts. This creates a high-mass, low-contact landing spot for components.
Precision Spike Decoupling: Heavy-duty, adjustable stainless steel floor spikes interface directly with the ground, providing an immovable reference plane and grounding path for mechanical energy.
Anodized Aluminium Uprights: Extruded aluminium legs lock the structure together with zinc-plated steel tie-rods, ensuring high rigidity without introducing stray magnetic resonances.
