The Michell Gyro SE (Spider Edition) is a high-performance manual belt-drive turntable designed to deliver precise timing, expansive soundstaging, and low-noise analogue playback. Handcrafted in Great Britain by Michell Engineering, the Gyro SE uses a compact acrylic spider base in place of a conventional full plinth, retaining the core mechanical isolation principles of the renowned GyroDec design.

A cast aluminium pendulum sub-chassis is suspended from three adjustable spring towers to isolate the platter and tonearm from external mechanical vibration. The high-mass impedance-matched platter uses solid brass peripheral weights to increase rotational inertia, while the inverted oil-circulating bearing uses an Archimedean screw lubrication system for smooth, quiet rotation.

The standalone DC motor is physically separated from the turntable structure, with drive transferred through a precision belt. Interchangeable arm boards also allow the Gyro SE to accommodate a wide range of tonearms.
