Ex-Demo Reference Standmount Loudspeakers | Brisbane HiFi Special Offer
Brisbane HiFi presents an exclusive ex-demo opportunity to acquire the acclaimed KEF LS50 Meta in the striking Royal Blue Special Edition finish.
Supplied with its original factory packaging and accessories, this ex-demo pair combines KEF's Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) with the 12th-generation Uni-Q driver array to deliver exceptionally coherent sound from a compact standmount enclosure.
The LS50 Meta is particularly well suited to high-quality stereo systems where precise imaging, wide dispersion, and compact physical dimensions are priorities.
Key Features & Acoustic Engineering Highlights
Metamaterial Absorption Technology
KEF's MAT technology uses a complex acoustic absorption structure positioned behind the tweeter.
The labyrinthine structure is designed to absorb unwanted rearward high-frequency radiation, reducing reflections that can otherwise colour the tweeter's output.
12th-Generation Uni-Q Driver Array
The coaxial Uni-Q configuration places the 25 mm vented aluminium dome tweeter at the acoustic centre of the 130 mm aluminium mid/bass driver.
This creates a single-point acoustic source designed to provide consistent dispersion and coherent integration between the high- and mid-frequency ranges.
Royal Blue Special Edition
The Special Edition finish features a distinctive matte Royal Blue cabinet complemented by a contrasting Rose Gold Uni-Q driver assembly.
The combination provides a visually distinctive alternative to the standard LS50 Meta finishes.
Off-Set Flexible Port
The rear port incorporates KEF's off-set flexible port design.
Developed using computational fluid dynamics, the port geometry is intended to delay the onset of turbulence and reduce unwanted midrange leakage through the cabinet port.
Ex-Demo Condition
This pair is presented as ex-demo equipment and has been inspected for operational and aesthetic condition.
It includes the original factory box and packaging, making it suitable for safe transportation.

Ideal for Compact Reference Systems
The LS50 Meta's compact dimensions make it particularly suitable for:
- Dedicated two-channel systems
- Apartments and smaller listening rooms
- Desktop or nearfield applications
- Bookshelf or standmount installations
- High-quality streaming systems
- Compact home-theatre systems
For the best stereo imaging and bass performance, a pair of dedicated speaker stands can provide a more predictable acoustic position than furniture placement.
Amplifier Matching
With 85 dB sensitivity and a 3.5-ohm minimum impedance, the LS50 Meta benefits from an amplifier capable of maintaining control into relatively demanding loads.
The recommended amplifier range is 40–100 W, with final selection depending on room size, listening distance, and desired playback level.
Brisbane HiFi can assist with matching the LS50 Meta to:
- Integrated amplifiers
- Network amplifiers
- Class A/AB amplification
- Class D amplification
- Streaming systems
- Subwoofers
